This Paleo, Whole30, and AIP friendly take on the classic Beef Broccoli stir fry will be your go-to dinner. All you need is one pan! In less than 30 minutes, you can save a trip to your local Chinese restaurant and make this anti-inflammatory recipe a dish the whole family will love.
Ever since I started on my Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) journey, I realized that all I could think about were Asian food. I started craving simple dishes I have taken for granted in many years because Chinese takeouts were so easily accessible. Growing up, I remember my parents ordering Chinese food at every celebration and I would beg them to switch things up. Every time I went to Panda Express, I would pass up on Beef Broccoli. “It’s too basic,” I thought “and I can make this at home.” I never made it at home prior to my AIP diet. However, my boyfriend loves beef broccoli and always ordered it. He’s my biggest critic so when I say this is “boyfriend approved” then it’s up to high standards! He loves this recipe. We’ll be mid-conversation and he’ll randomly crave this dish.
To be honest, I love this Paleo, Whole30, and AIP version more than the authentic beef broccoli. It’s delicious and leaves me feeling good.
How to Achieve Tender Beef:
- Go Paleo: choose grass-fed beef and the fresher the meat, the more tender it will be.
- Season steak with salt liberally on both sides and refrigerate it overnight.
- Freeze steak 30 minutes prior to preparation for easier slicing.
- Thinly slice steak against the grain with your sharpest knife.
I highly recommend Salt Fat Acid Heat by Samin Nosrat if you want to master the elements of good cooking!
Stir Fry Sauce:
- For a thinner consistency, only add two teaspoons of tapioca starch.
- For a thick sauce, stick to the recipe.
- AIP: Coconut Aminos instead of soy sauce or tamari.
- Stir sauce well. The Zulay Frother comes in handy!
